How to top up toner in the hopper without spillage.

Many remanufacturers top up fax cartridges to help alleviate low page counts. Many also use 180gm bottles of PC toner to fill the Canon E30/31 and know that it won't all fit into the hopper. Of course with Multi fill it's hard to imagine how you can top up anything with out getting in a mess but you can and it's simple.

Just bring both the cartridge and the bottle of toner together at an angle of about 45 degrees (see photo 1).

Now slowly bring the two together as though they are hinged at the coupling up point gently raise the outer ends (see photo 2) as if your straightening the hing then as it reaches horizontal plush the cap into the cartridge (see photo 3) now your ready to finish filling. (see photo 4)

When you've finished topping the hopper up and when the toner has stoppped flowing for say 5--10 seconds just reverse the steps as above by moving the cartridge and bottle to horizontal position and gently remove the cap and bottle but quickly move both to the up right position (sometimes a small amount of toner will be left behind) cap off and vacuum off the excess.
